Weddings

Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event.  A moment to look back on with your family for years to come & a day you should be proud to show photos of.
I love shooting weddings – it’s one of my favourite things.  To be in a place where everyone is happy, to celebrate two people in love.
Your photos are not something I want you to stress about – we’ll have fun, a few laughs, a few snuggles (well, you two will… not me!).

Wedding packages start at $3000, and if one of my packages doesn’t quite fit what you are after, I am happy to customise it for you.

Engagement Shoots

Engagement Shoots seem to be getting more & more popular. It’s a great way for us to get to know each other, & for you to learn the ropes.  Nine times out of ten you’ll find that after an engagement shoot, you’ll be so much more relaxed when it comes to having your photo taken on your wedding day!  It’s a great way to get some beautiful portraits of the two of you in more casual clothes than you’ll be in on your wedding day, with no wedding party as an audience & you can relax knowing that there is no pressure on having to get back to the reception venue on time!

We’ll have a laugh at how awkward things feel, I’ll explain how EVERYONE always feels that way & thats why I like to be BEHIND the camera…. & we’ll get onto having some fun.  It’s a very relaxed process & I pinky promise it’ll be nowhere near as scary as you think.

Engagement Shoots are $500 for an hour session with at least 40 high resolution images.

FAQ
Do you have any recommendations of other wedding vendors that you've worked with before?
I sure do! I've been so lucky to work with some of the best wedding vendors out there. Once we've had a chat & you are all booked in, I'd love to talk further & make some recommendations.
Help! We've never done this before... Can you make any suggestions regarding our timeline?
Absolutely. In fact, when we have our initial meeting/Skype I usually hash out a draft timeline for you based on the usual timings of ceremonies etc. Of course, it's subject to change, but it's somewhere to start.
We want to book you! What's the next step?
Let me know you would like to book, I'll pop your date in the calendar & then you'll need to pay your retainer to lock in your date. Your retainer equates to 30% of your chosen package.
We want two photographers at our wedding to cover as much as possible - can you do this?
Yes. In fact, I prefer working with a second shooter. I am super lucky as I have an amazing network of photographers I am able to call on to be a second shooter at your wedding. I can't wait for you to meet them.
If on our wedding day we decide that we'd like you to stay longer, would that be ok?
Nine times out of ten, that is absolutely no problem at all. Just let me know & I'll make the arrangements. Additional hours are $250ph & will be invoiced after your wedding.
Do we need to feed you?
If we are staying to photograph your reception - yes please! It's a huge job, & usually we either don't have time to eat on a wedding day, or we're eating on the run in between locations. While I do enjoy my car picnics with my second shooter.... you have no idea how good a sit down and a meal is in the evening!!!
My Uncle used to be a photographer & he wants to take some photos too, is that ok?
While I have no problem with guests taking photos, I'd appreciate that they didn't follow us around on our location shoot. I'll give them a quick opportunity to take photos during the group photo time, but it's much easier to get the job done without someone either hovering over my shoulder, or calling for you to look at their camera.
I completely get that they are excited & want to show off their photos to friends etc, but perhaps remind them that they can get a copy of all the photos off you once you get your photos back :)
How long will it take to get our images back after our wedding?
Oh my gosh... I totally understand, the day is over and you want to relive it over and over again!
I will have your images to you between 6-8 weeks after your wedding day.
We don't like posing for the camera... will you make us pose?
I'm not going to MAKE you do anything you don't want to do. I'm upfront from the get go... if we're doing something that makes you feel weird or uncomfortable just say so & we'll move on!
Likewise, I don't 'pose' you in the traditional sense... I want your photos to look natural, not stiff and forced. I'll gently guide you in a way that will generate the look & feel that I'm trying to achieve in your photos, half the time, without you even realising it!
How much photoshopping do you do to our photos?
Every image is colour corrected and lightly edited to achieve the same look & feel of the photos on my website. Horizons will be straightened, if you've managed to developed a pimple on your chin the morning of the wedding... I'll be kind and get rid of it for you if it's obvious.
However, any further heavier retouching does incur an extra cost as it takes additional time etc.
If you have ordered an album, or there is an album included in your package, I am happy to do any additional retouching to the images that appear within your album.
We've been told to get the RAW files off you, can we please have them?
In short... No.
RAW files are the data file that is generated by my camera which when uploaded to the computer can only be opened if you have Photoshop, Lightroom or similar image editing software. So unless you have those, they will be pretty useless to you.
And, in the event that you do have one of those software programs... you've employed me to provide you with images similar to those that I've shown you on my website - a finished product. No image that leaves my hands to go to a client will be anything less than complete & at a standard I'm proud to show people.
What happens if you are sick on our wedding day?
It hasn't happened yet!
I'm a pretty healthy girl, but in the extremely unlikely event that I am unwell enough to not be able to shoot on your wedding day I do have a large network of photographers who are pretty amazing & we're all happy to step in for each other if the occasion arises. I'd still receive your images & edit them after your wedding.
Do you do Engagement Shoots?
I love Engagement Shoots, & yes, I do shoot them. They are a great way for us to get to know each other before your wedding & for you to get used to being in front of the camera.
What is your photography style?
I guess you can say it's a mix between documentary style & relaxed portraits. Most of the day is shot from a 'fly on the wall' perspective - documenting things as they happen. The rest of the day - Group Photos, Bridal Portraits for instance, are a little more guided to get the most out of the time we have together and to ensure you are looking your best.
My images have been described as romantic, dreamy & genuine.
Do you travel outside of Auckland for weddings?
Yes I do! However if your wedding is outside of the Auckland area there will be a travel fee involved which I will quote you when you enquire.
